Action for Sustainable Living

Action for Sustainable Living (AfSL) is a dynamic charity based in Manchester and winners of The Guardian Charity of the Year Award 2008. AfSL aims to help people to live more sustainably by focusing on the small steps we can each take in our daily lives towards achieving bigger changes in the wider world.

AfSL has supported Leafy's start-up and development over the last two years and the two organisations will link their grass roots community work and outward bound eco-engagement whenever possible.

A Few Small Steps

A Few Small Steps (AFSS) is AfSL's schools programme and will become a social enterprise in its own right later this year. It takes a 'whole school' approach by providing sustainability education in a fun, inspiring and interactive way whilst also working with school teaching & management staff and the school's wider community to implement broader change around topics such as energy, waste, food and transport.

AFSS is Leafy's sister programme and will continue to provide 'on-the-ground' support in schools around the north-west to complement the work delivered by Leafy.
